Japanese teacher

Hello! I'm Ayumi. 

I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. I am a native Japanese speaker. I hold childcare certificates from both Japan and Australia and have over 16 years of teaching experience. In addition to working as a teacher at international schools, I also served as a principal for three years, managing school operations. I also have experience teaching Japanese to adults.

Being bilingual in Japanese and English, I can help beginners understand Japanese more easily by incorporating English when needed. My lessons are designed to be fun and engaging for both adults, covering everything from hiragana, katakana, and kanji to conversation and cultural insights.

The beginner's level is organized into units and lessons that gradually build your Japanese skills, offering classes, videos, grammar and vocabulary exercises, listening activities, and homework to support your learning every step of the way.
